the compliance of our Quality Management System with the ISO 9001:2008 System requirements

The discussion panels and conferences took place in the Krakow Opera building
and in J. S?owacki Theatre. During the conference at the theatre, the Cuban
dissident, rev. José Conrado Rodriguez who works in one of the poorest
parishes of Santiago de Cuba, was awarded with the Bronislaw Geremek's Distinction.
The list of invited guests included, inter alia, US Secretary of State Hillary
Clinton, former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, President of the
European Parliament Jerzy Buzek, India Minister of Foreign Affairs S.M. Krishna,
Mali Minister of Foreign Affairs M. Moctar Ouane, German Minister of Foreign
Affairs Guido Westerwelle, and former President of Poland - Lech Walesa.
Participants discussed major problems that today's democracy has to face.
The conference included panel discussions, which dealt with the following
issues: challenges to democracy in the context of global financial crisis,
the role of democratic activists in the contemporary world, the importance
of modern technology as an opportunity for the development of democracy, and the
role of women in building democracy. It was precisely the need for democracy and
the role of women that were the subjects of Yulia Tymoshenko, Jolanta Kwasniewska
and Nimalka Fernando's lectures at the Krakow Opera.
We are proud that it was LIDEX that was chosen to provide language support
during this prestigious event. It was a big challenge that required experience
and commitment. During the celebrations, we coordinated the work of 22 translators
in English, Russian, French, and Spanish.

Following the conclusion of another tender proceedings, as of June 2010 LIDEX
will provide services in the scope of oral and written translation for the
Chancellery of the Prime Minister. The tender provided for a cooperation
period totalling 24 months.
The possibility to provide language service during the political events that
are most significant for our country is a great honour, but also a very
challenging task, especially when taking into account that our cooperation
will coincide with Poland's Presidency in the Council of the European Union,
which is to start as at July 1, 2011.

LIDEX congresses & events is proud to inform that we provided a comprehensive service for an extraordinary event held on 12 March 2010 at the Royal Castle in Warsaw.
At its glamorous premises, there was an International Conference held on which the NATO's new strategic concept was discussed. We provided simultaneous translation and public address system, as well as audio systems and language service (simultaneous interpreting) for the conference. The event was organised by the Centre for International Relations in cooperation with the Ministry of National Defence and NATO Headquarters with reference to the 11th anniversary of the Poland's accession to NATO.
Participants of the conference included NATO Secretary General Fogh Rasmussen, Minister of National Defence Bogdan Klich and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rados?aw Sikorski, as well as many outstanding experts in international security. The event gathered more than 200 statesmans, diplomats, and experts from the USA and Europe, as well as NATO allies and partners from Central and Eastern Europe.
2009 marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Fryderyk Chopin - one of the greatest
music composers ever. To celebrate such an exceptional occasion, the Fryderyk Chopin
National Institute organized the Third International Congress "Chopin 1810-2010 Ideas - Interpretations - Influence",
which took place in Warsaw on 25.02-01.03.2010. Not only was this event so exceptional
due to the enormous popularity and admiration Chopin had enjoyed worldwide, but also due
to the influence that his music has had on the works of other composers as well as on
other forms of artistic endeavor and human activity.
Five days of the congress were filled with meetings, lectures, and - which is undoubtedly
the most important element - music of Fryderyk Chopin, performed by the most prominent and
world-famous pianists from all over the world. Visitors could walk the very same paths as
Chopin himself did - since the congress' meetings took place at the premises of the University
of Warsaw, where the great composer used to live and work in 1817 - 1827.
During those special days, both for Polish culture and Poles themselves, LIDEX congresses & events
had a great honor and pleasure to provide full technical support to this event, including the system
for simultaneous interpretation and public address system ? we had our small share in making Chopin
be heard, listened to, and understood.
