... we know almost everything about printing...
Professional typesetting, commonly known as DTP (Desktop Publishing), is used in situations where our customers need
materials for specific purposes. These may be articles for publication in newspapers or magazines, large-scale production
of company catalogues or any other projects, where it is important to accurately render all details, ensure perfect quality
of graphics and photos as well as many other components that are not visible to the naked eye and yet are very important
in the printing process. Printing is performed by professional personnel of the printing house based on information and
instructions provided by us.
However, printing itself is just the final stage of the project. If you want the text prepared by us to be delivered
to end users in the form of an attractive catalogue or professional manual, we must think about it together when planning
the whole graphical project:
| STAGE I |
- Agree details of the project.
- Choose the format in which the text is to be processed.
- Estimate the time and cost of project implementation.
|
| STAGE II |
- Supply source materials to the LIDEX Graphics & Film Studio.
- Deliver the text translated by the LIDEX Translation Department and approved by the customer to the Graphics & Film Studio.
|
| STAGE III |
- Complete the typesetting.
|
| STAGE IV |
- Deliver the typeset text to the customer for approval/acceptance.
|
| STAGE V |
- Check all elements that affect the printing process.
- Prepare a complete set of materials and a report for the printing house (information from the graphic application in which the text has been processed).
|
| STAGE VI |
- Collect the finished product from the printing house, accept it and deliver to the customer.
|
The DTP process consists of multiple stages and hence print preparation is time-consuming and expensive. It
often happens that for various reasons (tight deadlines, excessive costs, inadequate quality of source
materials, intended use), complete DTP makes no sense. Then the LIDEX Graphic & Film Studio offers alternative
solutions, which are tailored to the intended purpose of the text and perfectly meet the expectations of the target audience.
